Privacy notice
This notice covers the AI Tools, Memory & Context — User Research Survey, run by XMemo (https://xmemo.dev) for customer-discovery research.
Why we run this survey
To understand how people use AI assistants, where context and memory get lost between tools, and what solutions people use today. Answers inform our research; they are not used to profile individuals or for advertising.
What we collect
- Your answers to the survey questions, including any optional text you choose to write.
- The time of submission, how long the survey took, and the survey version.
- Only if you agree to a follow-up interview and choose to provide them: your name and/or email address.
What we do not collect
- We do not store your IP address, device fingerprint, or browser details with your response.
- We do not use cookies, advertising trackers, or analytics scripts on this survey.
- We do not ask for AI conversation transcripts or memory contents. Please don't paste them or other confidential information into the text box.
- You do not need an account, and you can complete the survey anonymously.
How your data is handled
- Responses are stored in a dedicated database hosted on Cloudflare, separate from the XMemo product and its user data.
- Interview contact details are stored in a separate table from survey answers and are used only to arrange an interview — never for marketing or mailing lists.
- Raw responses and contact details are accessible only to authorized XMemo administrators and are never published.
- Results may be summarized in aggregate (for example, percentages) in research presentations. Individual answers are not attributed to anyone.
- To protect against spam, Cloudflare briefly uses your connection's IP address for rate limiting. It is not written to our database.
- While you fill in the survey, your in-progress answers are kept in your browser tab's session storage so you can go back without losing them. They are cleared from the browser after you submit, and when you close the tab.
Retention
We keep responses only as long as needed for this research. Interview contact details are deleted once they are no longer needed to arrange or follow up on an interview.
Your choices, access and deletion
Participation is voluntary, and you can stop at any time before submitting — nothing is stored until you press Submit. After submitting, you can ask us to see or delete your response (and any contact details) by emailing support@xmemo.dev. Include the response reference shown on the confirmation screen, or the email address you provided, so we can find it.
